Do you ever wonder why some people rarely seem to “catch” a cold or flu during this season or any other season, for that matter? I know I do!
It seems like an eternity ago when most of us made New Year’s resolutions to focus on our health and wellness. Perhaps you were planning on spending more time at the gym, or setting a goal towards better sleep habits. Whatever your goal was, it probably got derailed in the midst of this 2020 storm. We want to issue a challenge for you to ‘re-set’ those goals, with wellness in mind!
Our Beloved Community,
Our hearts go out to you during this unprecedented time. We look forward to the day when we can reopen our doors to serve you. Until that day, here are three ideas to bring you peace daily.
1. Take a break. A break from the news, a break from the internet, a break from social media, a break from all of the external stimulus that can make your mind run rampant. Step outside, find a comfortable place to sit, and take a few deep breaths. Look around and notice:
With the end of a long, hard workday comes the desire to relax. It’s only natural as the average workday can be quite tiresome. This becomes especially true with jobs where you are constantly on your feet and moving around. The stress can become overwhelming on your feet and cause soreness and pain. As a result, a simple foot massage is something many people look for when they are done with their day. But, is this really the best way to ease the pain? There are multiple ways you can massage your feet with each method providing different benefits.
Innovation is the name of the game when it comes to spa treatments, and here at The Woodhouse Day Spa we seek to offer the latest in cutting edge personal care. Often with our busy schedules, family obligations, monetary restraints, etc, etc – the majority of us neglect our self-care practice.
Self-care is incredibly important - dare we say the number one priority!
Regardless if it is a Birthday, Mother’s Day, Chanukah or Christmas, it is often hard to come up with meaningful gifts for our friends and family. For many years, I was giving monetary gift cards to my hard to please pips. The problem with that is that it is something they spend and forget about. On the other hand, giving a present can also be problematic as many people already have similar things or have a different taste; that is hard to cater to.
As the holidays approach, we all get busy and sometimes forget to take time for ourselves. Obviously it’s important to schedule some ‘me’ time for relaxing, but it’s also important to maintain the healthy lifestyle you’ve been working towards all year. Think about it, if you give up on your health and wellness just two months out of the year that’s more than 16% of your life spent living unhealthy. In short, don’t give up and tell yourself that you’ll hit the ‘reset button” in January.
Have you ever yearned for something that will take you to that place of peace and serenity, allowing you to juggle your hectic schedule of work, travel, children, home or whatever challenges in your life may cause you to feel overwhelmed?
Ask us, we know this one by “heart”—no pun intended. First, let’s define both words: Fitness is the physical ability of your body to perform an athletic activity. Health is the state in which all the systems of the body—nervous, muscular, skeletal, circulatory, digestive, lymphatic, hormonal, etc. are working optimally and are working together. Everyone’s goal should be to become not just fit, but healthy.
